(if we get enough response for HARLOT we may be able to procure the upper lounge area!)

Host a ‘Ramble’ about town where we start at one fine location and walk to other nearby locales; eat, drink, smoke, discuss, dress up..etc. generally spreading Enthusiasm as we go…

What makes a successful gathering? No matter how many members showed up.

Monthly events should focus for now generating the critical mass needed to keep the cycle going?  Inversely, take advantage of Spring/summer 2009 season.

Enthusiast Charlie presented a lecture on Non-Separatism, or Tao, or the Non-dual. AKA Godhead, Rakhma, How do you think about something that represents everything? Interconnectedness is a worthwhile focus for our daily conciousness.

Connection between online and offline events. Get every enthusiasts’ list of their heroes and emulate real world things that they did.

Instigation implies Enthusiasts will do random strange things during a given month.
Script generating, card in the tarot deck. I’m enthusiastic about that, I’ll do it! Idea generating resource that connects people’s ideas of what is interesting thrown up as an interactive calendar.

Our next meeting is heretofore declared for Sunday May 3rd at 7pm.

We shall gather at Minx, a cash-bar fyne drinkerie upon 827 Sutter Street near Leavenworth.

“The Minutes” from April 5th gathering at Otis Lounge

Amongst other things, we lighted upon:

-  An existing ‘Meat Blog’ and the possibility of tying it into an annual ‘Enthusiasts BBQ’ at one Mr. Speigels’ private getaway spot.

- As means of finalizing the grand graphic design of the Enthu. logo, creating a GraphicWiki website that would host image submittal & allow review.

- Said could also serve as a place for review and chiming on various revisions of the Enthu’s Charter.

- Preforming Guerrilla Acts of Charity, such as the “Camel Meat Burrito Food Drive for the Homeless”.

- The history of, and standing invitation to enjoy, a remarkable
Geneva Gin by one Mr. Paul Nathan

- As means to connect with the various vanguards of Gentlmen’s Clubs in the Bay Area, a Club Crawl. Said having specific intent of membership serving as a possible revitalization of their numbers and future vision, creating a mutually  advantageous mesh of combined resources, having the pleasure of learning from others’ years of experience, and having yet another ‘odd’ place to hang our hats.

- In order to facilitate such, apparently one Mr. David Caulkins has some ties with a local Odd Fellows Club.

- The local phenomenon known as the ‘Mimosa’.

- the desire of ability to enjoy a fine cigar whilst we meet.

- Michael² outlined the origins of  Burning Man and the Cacophony
Society,  both having roots in the Suicide Club, [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_Club_(secret_society)] and then presented each member with choice of card to (assumptively) be applied towards some mysterious future hap.

- The art of party crashing utilizing the words “Yes, I was invited by John & Tony Torn”.

- The desire to respect the ‘standing’ speaker by directing retort to the group at large, or via quiet aside.

- Use of bulk SMS messaging for purpose of instigation and networking

- The importance of Reclamation of Ritual, or if you will, New Twists on Old Traditions.

Greetings, fellow Enthusiasts!
A hearty THANK YOU to everyone who came out this past Sunday evening and brought their enthusiasm, ideas, energy, style and ‘joie de vivre’ to the table!
What a handsome bunch of Dandy-tastic Gentlemen folk!

After sharing briefly my Vision and Intention for Enthusiasts Club, there was a lively period of discussion and presentations which left me, personally feeling rejuvenated and brimming with inspiration.
Amongst a few of the most excellent ideas for future gatherings:
-    ‘Odd Meat’ BBQ’s featuring rare and unusual meats and invitations to private theater roof-tops where we could host
-    Abandoned building film showings and Apocalypse Survivalist Training
-    service-oriented acts and deeds
-    ‘Happening’-styled party crashing take-overs where we show up looking good en masse and make ourselves irresistibly welcome
-     ‘Bonafide’ membership gained via personally hosting/ facilitating an Enthusiasts outing or event
Thank you to Marty for Dj’ing and presenting the working logo for Enthusiasts of the rare two-headed peacock.
…and a special thanks to Michael Michael for opening his ‘The Chest of Wonders’ and bringing the mojo of History and Tradition!

All in all, a really great charter gathering for the first of 2009!
